About Us
Basaveshwara Degree College was established in 2022 under the aegis of B.V.V. Sangha, Bagalkote, with the vision of imparting quality education with social, human and ethical values with emphasis on “work is worship”. The college is affiliated to Bangalore University and offers undergraduate programmes in Arts, Science and Commerce. The campus is located in a sprawling lush green environment with a serene ambience for a vibrant student life of curricular and extra-curricular activities. The institution is equipped with highly proficient and qualified faculty members to teach and prepare the students to compete and succeed in the competitive world. The institution provides the students with personal support and professional guidance they need to succeed in both personal and professional life. To realize this vision, the college provides coaching by industry experts for competitive exams and other State and Central Board exams.

About Sangha
The far-sighted and progressive thoughts of His Holiness Shri Gurubasava Mahaswamiji, Bilur, led to the genesis of Basaveshwara Veerashaiva Vidyavardhaka Sangha (B.V.V. Sangha) on 18th October, 1906. Started with a humble goal of a Sanskrit Pathashala to impart ‘Sanskara’ to the younger generation through ‘value-based’ education. The activities of the Sangha have grown manifold since its inception. Today, 169 institutions spread over different parts of Karnataka and Maharashtra. Though the journey began with a Sanskrit Pathashala, presently, Sangha has been providing education at different levels-primary education, high-school, pre-university, technical education, engineering, medical and para-medical and Human Resource Development. The Sangha has been serving the poor, the under privileged and economically needy people of the society for more than a century upholding social, human and ethical values with emphasis on “Work is Worship” – the philosophy of Lord Basaveshwara. The journey and the success of the Sangha is a testimony for its stupendous contribution in the field of education.
